“I remember where I came from, I remember my truth.. Connected to the heavens with deep solid roots. What a gift to be awake, as we enter the Golden Age.. The wisdom of the temples, the arts that got lost - stolen and abused by worshippers of the dark… They are reclaimed by the Priestesses by the Golden Age... “ - from the song ‘Golden Age’
“The moment we stop running from the demons in our heads, and instead we choose to love them, when saying yes to life, both shadow and light, our suffering is done and we come alive.” — from the song 'Shedding Skins'
The soft and gentle, yet crystal clear words of Fia vibrates through my mind as I sit watching the salt water wash up on the northern shores, the sun glimmers on the surface of the ocean.. There’s something about the frequency and soundscapes of this music, as if I am listening to the voice of my own soul - from the time when we were all united in our one heart.
People are waking up fast these days, and Fia’s transmissions are guiding wandering souls back home - into alignment with the laws of energy and the sacred geometry of heaven and earth. Fia’s words have empowered me to follow the whispers of my soul on the path towards unity consciousness, to embrace and embody my feminine leadership qualities, and to let myself be guided by my inner voice and intuition..
With three full length albums, Made of Stars (2016), Legacy of Light (2017) and Waterfall of Wisdom (April 2019), Fia is touring all over the world playing at festivals and sold-out concerts. Her footprints will soon take her to Oslo, where she will share an intimate concert at Northern Light Yoga.. While we wait, we have asked Fia about her return to the northern realms, and to elaborate on some of the themes from her latest album..
Fia, how does it feel to have your feet back on northern ground..? Being from Sweden, what do you think the world can learn from the ways of the north - from ancient wisdom to modern practices?
It feels incredibly nourishing and simply “right” you know? After traveling the world there is so much for me to gather here. Digging after wisdom where I stand. Connecting back with my lineage and the magic practices used for thousands of years in the north. I believe the world can really gain something from our relationship with the seasons, how we flow between the deep, dark stillness in winter, into buzzing spring, blooming summer and then turning again, harvesting and coming back full circle again. Allowing ourselves to have that full cycle, with natural inwards and outwards movements, I believe is key to a vibrant, thriving life & balanced feeling of being.
Which parts of the northern landscapes make you feel most at home - where do you go for peace?
I love Sweden, but also the deep forests of Finland. My mother is Finnish so I naturally feel at home whenever I’m there! I’m also really curious about Norway, this will be first time ever visiting and I would love to explore some of it. I have an idea of it being a bit more wild than the other Scandi-countries, so that feels exciting to see if it’s true!
Which experiences from your childhood have influenced your freedom and the path you have been called to walk?
I grew up in a very supportive and open minded family where my creative expression and free way of being was encouraged from the start, so that has definitely helped. Music became my way of processing and navigating a sometimes overwhelming world, but also to really allow all the beauty and magic in. Getting lost for hours by my piano (which is what I played the most growing up) , puzzling together melodies and words, mmm. PURE JOY! My endless adventures in nature is also a big part of my journey.
What does it mean when you say that you are ‘receiving downloads’ - where do they come from and what advice can you give people who are experiencing an increasing downpooring of these waterfalls of wisdom?
Receiving downloads = receiving divine wisdom/consciousness elevating energy in the forms of music, writing, mental images, feelings etc. They are a gift from Goddess/God/Universe/Spirit, whatever you choose to call it. That which we are infinitely connected to. If this is something that is happening in your life at a rapid speed I would suggest carving out lots of time for yourself to really allow the wisdom in. Walking the forest, meditating, swimming, yoga, dance...whatever gets you in your body, silences the mind and opens your heart!
In the song ‘River’ - you are asking for ‘less yang’ and ‘more yin’ - subtly pointing to a shift that is happening in the world at the moment - could you elaborate on what this means for our day-to-day reality?
For me that means to recognize the patterning I have picked up from society that encourages me to move at high speed, always doing a thousand things and that looks down upon any kind of rest and recharge. This is an indication of the imbalance between the masculine and feminine energies. I as a highly sensitive, creative woman with a big mission on this earth, reeeeally needs to give myself space to embrace and live more from my relaxed feminine, embodying yin qualities to feel nourished and vibrant. Otherwise my masculine will simply go go go and I will burn up from all the fiery yang energy! I believe it’s great for all people to do some inquiry and simply notice how these energies moves within them. Do I need more rest? Or do I need more action? <
A lot of your music speaks directly to the rise of the feminine principle in humanity - how can a balanced feminine help hold space for the maturing of the masculine in these times?
When someone is balanced in her feminine, rooted and anchored in her/his womb/hara and connected to the earth, flowing with the waters, she/he becomes a force of nature. She/he is confident and knows their worth, she/he is deeply in tune with her/his needs and how to care for her/himself, and when meeting the masculine from this place, magic happens. When feminine is sitting on her throne, at peace and with an open heart, embodying all that she/he, it gives the masculine the opportunity to fully relax into his/her full expression as well.
In the song, ‘Magic Question’, you sing about ‘speaking energy fluently’ - what does this mean to you?
This is me simply sharing that I’m an empath, I feel others people's emotions as if they were mine. I can read between the lines in social situations, I know the power of my emotions, thoughts and actions, how they all influence Universal energies, and by that create my reality. I know how to move and generate certain kinds of energy and direct them wherever I choose.
How does your connection to your ancestors impact your work, and what advice can you give young people wanting to establish this dialogue? Who are your living Elders, nourishing you with wisdom of the ages?
It gives another kind of depth to everything create, it infuses it with even more magic. I would suggest time alone out in nature, going into meditation, perhaps even ceremony and then calling upon your ancestors. Share your gratitude and love, tell them you want to connect and ask for guidance. Be open to receive their blessings in different ways, for example during your dreamtime (when you are sleeping) I come from a lineage of healers and artists, on my mothers side there are multiple relatives that have been affecting me on my journey. I am working a lot with my grandmother right now, though she is not alive in this physical world.
How has crowdsourcing and social media helped you on your journey towards greater love and connection, and how can we gracefully place one foot in both the digital and organic rivers and still remain in balance?
This has made it all move with even greater speed and grace! By crowdfunding I have been able to create this music without any middle hands, delivering a direct and pure piece of art ot my listeners. Through social media we have been able to connect deeper, forming community and with joined forces sharing this music even further! I believe as with anything, stay aware of your behaviours, are they serving, does it feel good etc. The digital world is simply another expression of this reality, and we always get to choose how we move and dance with it.
They say that in order to let more light in, the more you will have to embrace your shadows - how do we begin to open and unravel our shadow nature?
Step by step. Begin to shadow-hunt yourself. Notice triggers, emotional responses, patterns and conditioning. Ask yourself the question; is this true?
Which rituals do you have in your life that help you stay grounded in these accelerated times of awakening?
Taking baths! Yes, seriously, this is the best way for me to cleanse and stay connected. Deep breathing in my womb & plugging into the earth everyday. Nature time. Resting. Taking naps. Drinking lots of water!
What does it mean to ‘embrace the full spectrum of our human experience’?
To allow oneself to feel and experience EVERYTHING.
