Pathfinding
& Medicine Walks

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”

- J.R.R. Tolkien,The Fellowship of the Ring

Pathfinding Sessions

All you need for your own peace and flourishing is already within you. As an ecotherapist, quest is to inspire and guide you to restore the balance and clarity needed for you to restore the balance in your inner and outer ecosystems.

By studying our inner selves in relation to the outer natural cycles, we are engaging in a continuous dialogue with the Earth. By listening and paying attention to this conversation, we also increase our awareness of the conditions needed for preventing stagnation and disease, and nurturing healthy, thriving systems.

In the sessions, we will map out your current blockages and begin sketching out a map for your medicine journey. Pathfinding requires commitment and self-discipline, and I only take on clients that are ready to carve out space in their lives for contemplation and action.

My pathfinding work draw on my experience from the following traditions: Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy, initiation in the Mystery School of the Essenes with the Gilalai Institute of Energy and Consciousness, self-study of the I Ching and the Gene Keys, forest therapy and ecosomatics, sound healing, shamanistic practice, deep psychology, deep ecology, and continuous dialogues with the plant realm.

Rites of Passage, Women’s Circles and Medicine Walks

I create and facilitate ceremonies that marks important transitional periods or initiations in one’s life, for anyone who wants to experience this unique way to connect to self, others and Nature. The rituals are often done in the forest, involving plant teachers such as cacao or local plants.

In today’s society many people lose themselves in these transitions, since we have lost many of the traditional arts and practices of our local cultures. I am very passionate about bringing back the ways of the old, and use the Way of Circle to bring people back into a sense of unity and common understanding.

Rites of Passage are held for special life events such as birth, baptism, marriage, changes in direction, completion of cycles or initiations into adulthood, elderhood or death. Any step into newfound power should be celebrated, whether it is to complete or renew a relationship, take ownership of your feminine strength or honouring the coming-of-age of a son or daughter.

Medicine Walks are powerful rites of passage in Nature’s own embrace, and last for 12 hours to several days. A Medicine Walk, also know as vision quest, is a facilitated walk in nature that allows you to slow down, tune in, shift consciousness, and receive the medicine that your soul needs. Nature will reflect back what the soul needs to see. In doing so, a door to transformation is opened deepening connection to self, the Earth, and to the larger community of all beings. We will walk together, but you will remain ‘invisible’ for the duration of the walk.

“Those who embark on a solitary Medicine Walk with guidance from someone who can truly hold space for, witness, and reflect back to them their journey, are reclaiming a crucial rite of passage; a critically absent component of spiritual living for most of modern western culture.”

- Giuliana Serena

“Anthropologist Ernest Becker wrote that our fundamental character structure is a vital construct, a necessary fiction, a “story we tell ourselves about ourselves”. Essentially: mental health and personal meaning emerges from an autobiographical narrative that serves us and suffuses our lives with signification. A personal crisis is when the story you tell yourself about yourself is no longer serving you.

We are storytelling animals and our very thoughts are structured by our self-narratives. Thus, mental health breakthroughs lie in understanding the importance of finessing our personal agency in crafting a story about ourselves that serves us, a personal mythology that allows us to show up in the world in service and grace. So go out there and craft your myth.”
