“A witch is just someone who remembers that the entire world is alive. And that all healing arises from tending a relationship to the energies that animate our Earth.”
- Asia Suler
Dear Friend,
I’m writing to you from the mountain realms of Soleggen, Norway at HomeSome Music Production Retreat, where I am sharing forest and mountain therapy and learning the wizardry of soundscaping.. From my window, the hills are enveloped in misty white clouds, passing by like a slithering ‘Seti Nag’, the white snake, as they would call it in the Himalayas 〜 my second home. Since I moved back from Nepal two years ago, I have had a deep and profound longing to return, but my heart is now resting in the Dao of the Northern landscapes. The decision to settle down in Norway has been rough on the body, but I am beginning to feel that my roots have let go and taken hold of the nordic soil and groundwater 〜 allowing myself to flow with the natural rhythms of the year and the delightful cycles of my own body. Becoming a medicine human and embodying the multidimensional remedies of my Motherland.
This monthly journal will be a channel to share my healing journey and metamorphosis as I keep answering to that deep ache of belonging that we all feel beating in the fertile fields of our soul. It is a tale of slowing down, of learning to navigate the inner waters, of tuning into the voices of our ancestors and surrendering to the wisdom of nature. Moving from being a victim of the frequencies of my surroundings to emitting my own frequency of service and the truest of star-child-essence. Today, I serve as a healer and eco-therapist, with a quest to re-establish the sacred relationship between people and land 〜 by building bridges between our inner and outer nature, and by supporting harmony in my living ecology and community. My life is slowly becoming a conscious offering to the Divine Father (Spirit) and the Divine Mother (Matter), a dance of creation between Heaven and Earth.
In the Northern Hemisphere we are have just passed the Autumn Equinox, and are entering the season of fall. The trees are dancing with the strong winds and celebrating with a fiery colour palette. The Rainbow Bridge to inner guidance is being laid visible before our feet… We are in the season of harvest, rest and preparing for colder and darker days. This is a time for conserving the warmth of the sun and the sweet moments of summer, a time for deep contemplation, listening and digestion. Allowing yourself to rest and settle into your nest or cave to be able to move into winter with a feeling of softness and calm. In Chinese medicine, autumn is linked to the element of metal, the lungs and the large intestine - often bringing up grief, nostalgia and melancholia for the dying and composting matter, which can be a fertile ground to cultivate compassion and gratitude - if we create the space for this process to unfold naturally. Metal also brings up core questions of direction and identity such as ‘who am I?’ and ‘where am I going?’.
In essence, we are carefully bringing the nutrients of summer with us into the colder hours. My mornings are longer now, and I scan my body when I wake up to feel into any tension, fear or disturbance in my emotional field and make sure I can design a day for myself with the right channels for release and integration - and nutrients to support the transition. Use these crisp autumn days to savour the simplicity of the mundane, to clean and organize your house, sharpen your knives, build your food storage with the elixirs of summer and living processes such as kombucha, fermentations, canned vegetables and water kefir. The tincture or oil of St. John’s Wort is one of my most valuable remedies for winter, as it functions as a natural anti-depressant - light in a bottle!
Now is the time to open space in your daily life for recalibrating your inner compass and make a fresh altar for fall where each element is represented (earth, water, fire, air, ether). Re-kindle your connection to your ancestors. Invite your sistes and brothers for circles and ceremonies to celebrate the coming of the new season and the Harvest Moon. Make an offering to your inner and outer fire, the sacred flames of transformation, leaving behind what is no longer needed for you to soar and rise to your highest expression. Absorb the colour of fall into your being and your chakras will be balanced before the inwards journey. I find my morning practice to be changing from a watery, flowing, dancing summer flow to a more solid and strengthening routine, preparing to go even deeper inwards and access the mystery schools of my Inner Oracle and True North.
Each journal entry will serve as sources of ancient wisdom, blended with modern practice, with content such as healing magic of eco-therapy, practices for cultivating deeper self-love, rites and rituals of the northern realms, reflections on the One Heart, the nature of modern witchcraft, regenerative leadership 〜 and more. I hope for this to become an interactive project, so please feel free to request topics and content.
My work arises from a dedication to serving the divine flow of each present moment. If you would like to make a donation to keep the river alive, please do this here. May these words leave you refresh and rejuvenated as if you were drinking from a hidden natural spring in the wild woods of the north!

Poetry & Prayers
Legg en hånd på hjertet ditt
Så jeg skal dele litt av mitt
Og kjenn at livets ville vei
Las strømme fritt igjennom deg
For hver en bør som vendes om
Så åpnes hjertefrostens flom
For alle tårevåte kinn
Beveges lyset sakte inn.
